Vlatka Butorac Malnar Associate professor, University of Rijeka, Faculty of law, Croatia
Vlatka Butorac Malnar is an Associate Professor at the International and European Private Law Department at the Faculty of Law, University of Rijeka. In addition to European Private Law, she teaches Competition Law at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She holds the LL.M. and Ph.D. degree from the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. As a visiting fellow, she researched in a number of institutions, including the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, the Cornell Law School, NY, USA, the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Hamburg, Germany, and the Asser College Europe, den Haag, the Netherlands. She writes intensely on competition law and is the co-author of the first textbook on competition law in Croatia. In 2019, the book Competition Law in Croatia, which she co-authored with two colleagues, was issued as a part of the Kluwer International Encyclopaedia for Competition Law.
Emilia Mišćenić Associate Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Rijeka, Croatia (head of the committee)
Emilia Mišćenić is an Associate Professor at the Chair of International and European Private Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Rijeka. She obtained her master’s degree from the Europa-Institut Universität des Saarlandes, Germany, and her doctoral degree at the scientific study programme Rechtswissenschaftliche Fakultät Karl-Franzens Universität Graz, Austria. She authored the book in German language on consumer loan agreements cited in the opinion of AG Trstenjak in the CJEU case Pereničová et Perenič.
She was awarded with the National Science Award granted by the Croatian Parliament in 2011, and the award of the University of Rijeka Foundation in 2012. In 2013, she was selected by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia as one of the twenty most successful research assistants fulfilling special criteria of scientific excellence. In 2020 she was awarded with the University of Rijeka Teaching Excellence Award and with the annual Award of the Republic of Croatia ‘Ivan Filipović’ for outstanding scientific and professional efforts and results in educational work and profession. She is a member of the International Association of Consumer Law, Croatian Comparative Law Association and co-chair of the Croatian Hub of the European Law Institute.

Danijela Vrbljanac Assistant professor, University of Rijeka, Faculty of law, Croatia
Danijela Vrbljanac is an Assistant Professor at the Chair of International and European Private Law, University of Rijeka, Faculty of Law. She was granted scholarships for research stays at the Max-Planck-Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, Europa-Institute of the University of Saarland (Germany) and the University of Milan - Bicocca (Italy). She conducted research on other renowned scientific institutions such as Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), European University Institute in Florence (Italy) and University of Aberdeen (Scotland). She has participated or is participating in several domestic scientific projects and several EU-funded projects, of which the currently active Justice Train to enforce - Train2 EN4CE (br. 854038-JUST-AG-2018/JUST-JTRA-EJTR-AG-2018) and Diversity of Enforcement Titles in Cross-Border Debt Collection in the EU - EU_En4s (831628-JUST-AG-2018 / JUST-JCOO-AG-2018) are worth mentioning. She is the author of several articles on European private international law and European private law. She is a member of the Croatian Comparative Law Association.

Aleksandra Markić Boban Head of the Project Office Zagreb, Hanns Seidel Foundation
Aleksandra Markić Boban graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb in English and German Language and Literature (MA), and holds a MScs in European Studies. Before joining the Hanns Seidel Foundation she worked for the ECMM and the EUAM as well as for the German Ambassy in Zagreb. In her capacity as the Head of Project Office in Zagreb she was responsible for initiating, organizing and evaluating more than 1,000 events dealing with politics, diplomacy, law and local self-government. Her main focus is on the European affairs, international affairs and development cooperation. Aleksandra Markić Boban is editor of the book “Public Diplomacy: Nation Branding and Image” and co-editor of the handbook for local self-government “Management in local self-government”.

Vesna Tomljenović Judge at the General Court, Court of Justice of the European Union, Luxembourg
Vesna Tomljenović is the first Croatian Judge at the General Court of the European Union elected in 2013 and reappointed in 2019. She is the President of the Second Chamber at the General Court of the European Union. She is a Full Professor at the Department of International and European Private Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Rijeka as well as the Head of the Institute of European and Comparative Law at the same Faculty. She is the speaker and co-organiser of a number of international and domestic conferences, author of many papers and author or editor of several books.
She is also one of the founders and the Director of the postgraduate specialist programme “Law of European Integrations” at the Faculty of Law in Rijeka. During the negotiations for the Croatian accession to the EU, she was appointed the Head of the Negotiating Team Working Group for the Consumer Protection and Health. She is a long-term active member in the International Law Association and as of 2006 she has served as the President of the Croatian Comparative Law Association.

Geraint Howells Professor & Executive Dean, College of Business, Public Policy and Law, National University of Galway, Ireland
Geraint Howells is Executive Dean of Business, Public Policy and Law at the National University of Galway, and Visiting Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Manchester. He was previously Chair Professor of Commercial Law and Dean of the Law School at City University of Hong Kong. He is a former President of the International Association of Consumer Law. He previously held chairs at Sheffield, Lancaster and Manchester and has been head of law schools at Lancaster, Manchester and City University of Hong Kong. He has been a barrister at Gough Square Chambers, London (though not currently practising). His books include Comparative Product Liability, Consumer Product Safety, Consumer Protection Law, EC Consumer Law, Product Liability, European Fair Trading Law, Handbook of Research on International Consumer Law, The Tobacco Challenge and Rethinking EU Consumer Law. He has undertaken extensive consultancy work for the EU and UK government as well as for NGOs.

Hannes Rösler Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Siegen, Germany
Prof. Dr. Hannes Rösler, LL.M. (Harvard) is a Professor of Civil Law, Private International Law and Comparative Law at the University of Siegen (Germany) since 2014. Furthermore, he is the Director of the Institute of Media and Communications Law (IMKR) in Siegen. From 2004 to 2013, he was a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. Prior to this, Hannes Rösler was a Research Assistant at the Institute for Comparative Law in Marburg and a law clerk in Frankfurt am Main. He received a doctorate (Dr. iur.) in 2003 for his book on European consumer law from Marburg University, where he had graduated in 1998, following one year of studies at the London School of Economics. In 2004 he received an LL.M. from Harvard Law School. He finished his post-doctoral thesis (Habilitation) on the European Court of Justice and European private law at the University of Hamburg in 2012. Hannes Rösler is a widely published author on German law, European law, comparative law as well as private international law and procedure in several languages. He has held interim professorships at the Universities of Freiburg, Bonn and Frankfurt an der Oder. He also held visiting positions abroad, i.a., at the Unidroit in Rome, Oxford University, University of Cambridge, New York University, as well as universities in France, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, China and Japan.

Jacolien Barnard Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria, South Africa
Jacolien Barnard is a professor at the Department of Mercantile Law, Faculty of Law at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. She is also an attorney of the High Court of South Africa and a NRF-rated researcher, holding a C2 rating. She is a member of the International Association of Consumer Law (IACL) and head of the conference committee for the University of Pretoria International Consumer Law Conference (UPICLC) held bi-annually since 2014. Jacolien has authored and co-authored various national and international scholarly publications on Consumer Protection Law and presented on both national and international platforms in this regard. She teaches Consumer Protection Law and Law of Specific Contracts (Sale, Lease, Agency, Surety) on undergraduate and postgraduate level including post-graduate research supervision.

Andra Cotiga Professor, Faculty of Law, Université Catholique de Lille, France
Andra COTIGA is a professor of private law at the Université Catholique de Lille, Faculty of law, since 2016, where she teaches French commercial law, Private International law, European and comparative company law. She has a Ph. D in law from the Université de Lille, France and an habilitation to supervise research in law (HDR) from the Université de Strasbourg. Andra COTIGA has been several times a fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Hamburg, Germany and she is a member of European Law Institute (ELI).

Piotr Tereszkiewicz Professor, Faculty of Law, Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland
Piotr Tereszkiewicz is Professor in Private Law, Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland and Senior Research Affiliate at the University of Leuven, Belgium. He holds a PhD from the University in Cracow and a MJur from the University of Oxford. He is Deputy Chair of the Academic Advisory Board of the Financial Ombudsman in Poland and a Board Member, Polish Association of Law and Economics (Warsaw). Damjan Možina Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia
Damjan Možina is Professor of Civil and Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law of University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He studied Law in Ljubljana (Bachelor’s degree) and Berlin (Humboldt, LL.M,). He passed the Bar Exam in Slovenia (2003). He received his PhD from University of Ljubljana with a thesis on Breach of contract and remedies in comparative perspective (2005). He had several research scholarships at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg and a grant from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2018-2019). He is a member of Council at the European Law Institute (ELI). His research areas include Contract Law, Tort law, European Private Law and Law of State Liability.

Mateja Durović Reader in Contract and Commercial Law, King's College London, United Kingdom
Dr. sc. Mateja Durovic je izvanredni profesor ugovornog i trgovačkog prava i izvršni direktor Centra za tehnologiju, etiku, pravo i društvo Kraljevskog koledža u Londonu. Prethodno je djelovao kao docent (2015.‐2017. godine) na Školi prava Sveučilišta u Hong Kongu. Dr. sc. Mateja Durovic doktorirao je i stekao LL.M na Europskom sveučilišnom institutu (EUI) u Italiji, LLM na Sveučilištu u Cambridge u Ujedinjenom kraljevstvu i LL.B na Sveučilištu u Beogradu u Srbiji. Dr. sc. Durovic je bio post-doktorand istraživač na EUI u Italiji (2014.-2015. godine), gostujući znanstvenik na Stanford Law School, SAD (2011. godine), te na Max Planck Institutu za poredbeno i međunarodno privatno pravo u Hamburgu, Njemačka (2010. godine). Dr. sc. Durovic je radio za pravnu službu Europske komisije, kao i savjetnik za Europsku komisiju, BEUC i Ujedinjene narode. Radovi dr. sc. Durovica se objavljivani u vodećim časopisima prava (European Review of Private Law, European Review of Contract Law, Journal of Consumer Policy) i kod uglednih izdavača (Oxford University Press, Hart Publishing). Član je European Law Institute, Society of Legal Scholars i Society for European Contract Law.
